One of the first things that the new PPI board did was to send out a call for offers for the next PPI conference. This is already an improvement compared with the preparation of the last year’s conference when the call for offers went out later than they had planned. The board still recommends the hosting nation to hold the conference in “March/April or May” despite most European Pirate Parties being in the middle of their campaign work for the EU elections that will take place 22-25 May.
On 10 – 12 may 2013 the general assembly of the German Pirate Party will take place in Neumarkt. This GA will mainly be focused on party policies in order to prepare for the elections in September.
But it won’t be only about party policies, it will also be about statue changes in order elect a few new members board. Two former members of the board already resigned and a third member of the board will resign at the GA.
Important motions for the GA are the motions about a permanent online GA in order to pass new policies quicker and to enhance the democratic processes in the german pirate party.
The upcoming General Assembly of Pirate Party International (PPI) will be held in Kazan, Russia. So decided the PPI board on January 8 2013. The conference will be held in a weekend in April and will be the first one held outside of the European Union.
